Several explosions were heard in the Afghan capital Kabul overnight Tuesday, AFP reports.
The blasts reportedly involved gunfire and anti-aircraft fire in various locations in the city. Explosions were also reported in the city of Jalalabad.
Last week, new fighting broke out between Afghanistan and Pakistan, with Pakistan's defense minister calling the situation "open war." Afghanistan's Taliban government said that "fighting continues."
