Three people were killed in shelling in the city of Odesa, according to Ukrainian authorities. Among them were a 30-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter, military spokesman Oleh Kiper wrote on social media. Around a dozen people were injured.
A six-story apartment building was hit by a blast that blew a large hole in the facade. The hole extends over several floors and a large fire raged there overnight. Other images show rescue workers carrying people away in pajamas.
Ukraine's military says it registered more than 140 Russian attack drones overnight, with about a tenth reportedly shot down.
