Twelve people have lost their lives in a fire that broke out in a residential building in southern China, according to the state-run Xinhua news agency.
It was a four-story building in the city of Shantou in Guangdong Province that caught fire.
The incident comes just weeks after several high-rise buildings caught fire in Hong Kong, which borders Guangdong, killing 160 people.
