Heavy rains have flooded tent camps and temporary shelters around the Gaza Strip since Wednesday.
The Civil Defense tells AFP that three children have died due to the cold winter weather, two in Gaza City and one in Khan Yunis in the south.
Six more people are reported to have died when a house collapsed in northern Gaza. In addition, two bodies have been found in the rubble of a house in Gaza City and five deaths have been confirmed after walls in temporary shelters collapsed.
Because most buildings in Gaza have been destroyed or damaged in the war, thousands of people are seeking shelter in tents and makeshift shelters.
The World Health Organization warned on Friday that winter weather combined with poor sanitation is expected to exacerbate influenza-like illnesses.
