Strong winds and torrential rains are battering the war-torn Gaza Strip. Several people have died.

Tuesday night, a teenager and three adults died in two separate accidents caused by severe storms, authorities said.

The deaths occurred when storm winds caused unstable walls to collapse onto tents.

Two years of war have weakened the Gaza Strip's already substandard infrastructure, with large parts of the population living in tents after being forced to flee their homes, which have in many cases been reduced to rubble by Israeli attacks.

"The winds were very, very strong. The tent collapsed on us," Yasmin Shalha, a mother of five, told the AP in Zawaida, in the central Gaza Strip, on Tuesday.

Now she's trying to sew the tent tarpaulins together with a needle and thread.

"As you can see, our situation is terrible," she says.
