Three children and an adult were killed in southern Gaza when a drone attacked a tent sheltering people forced to flee their homes, according to Mahmud Bassal, a spokesman for the area's civil defense.
Five more people, including two children, were killed in separate attacks. Late Thursday night, Bassal said four people had been killed in another attack, this time on a house in eastern Gaza City, and that rescue workers were searching for missing people.
The Israeli military said in a statement that it would review the information.
Earlier on Thursday, the military said a projectile had been fired "from an area in Gaza City towards Israel" but that it did not reach outside the Gaza Strip. "Shortly afterwards, the military carried out a precise attack on the launch site."
Israel and Hamas have entered into a ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, 2025. Despite this, at least 425 Palestinians in Gaza, many of them women and children, have been killed since then.
According to Israel, three of its soldiers have been killed by combatants during the same period.
