The girl was lying in her stroller at the family's front door in the town of Haderslev when a suspect took the stroller and left the scene.
"It is a private area with a large gate, so the person entered private land," the father told Danish tabloid BT.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Monday. The infant was later found in a room at a nearby hotel. A 37-year-old man was also there and was arrested on suspicion of unlawful imprisonment and attempted rape. It is unclear if he has any connection to the family.
The baby is reportedly doing well. She will be examined by a doctor on Tuesday.
