Chinese car manufacturers' share of the EU's electric car market fell to its lowest level in eight months in November, according to the analysis firm Dataforce.
The market share dropped to 7.4 percent, down from 8.2 percent in October. To find a lower Chinese share of the electric car market, one has to go back to March 2024.
The setback for Chinese car manufacturers, including BYD and SAIC Motor, comes as new EU tariffs of up to 35 percent have pushed up the cost of Chinese electric cars in Europe.
