Jonas Petersson is leaving his role as CEO of the World Ski Championships in Falun - with just over a year left until the championship.

"The work continues as planned with full force, with a focus on upcoming competitions and preparations for the 2027 World Ski Championships," says Roza Güclü Hedin, chairwoman of the World Ski Championships in Falun 2027 AB, in a press release.

The reason for the departure is that "the scope of the role, together with the commute between Falun and Borås, has become too demanding for Jonas Peterson," the statement says.

Kajsa Sjösvärd will take over as acting CEO and Petersson will remain in the organization during a transition period.

The World Ski Championships in Falun will be held February 24–March 7, 2027.
