The construction and property company Serneke Sverige AB has filed for bankruptcy with the Göteborg District Court.
The company was acquired last year by the German holding company Mutares, which hoped to secure Serneke Sverige's position as a leading player in the contracting sector in Sweden.
However, the financial situation for Serneke Sverige has deteriorated significantly during the year, and the company has not been able to secure the short-term liquidity required to continue operations.
"The problems that have emerged during our investigations after taking control of the company have been so significant that, unfortunately, we do not see any other solution than to request Serneke Sverige's bankruptcy," says Serneke's Chairman of the Board Miikka Suominen in a press release.
