A serious traffic accident occurred on the E4 highway in the northbound direction north of Värnamo just after 8:00 pm on Wednesday, according to the police on their website. A person in a passenger car was seriously injured after crashing into the rear of a truck with a trailer.
The person was trapped in the car and was rescued by emergency services and ambulance personnel, and was taken to hospital with injuries that are considered very serious, says police spokesperson Mats Pettersson to TT.
According to the police, the road is partially blocked and motorists are advised to slow down.
We are still on site and working on the scene. A tow truck has been ordered. There is limited accessibility there, says Mats Pettersson at 8:30 pm.
The vehicles involved will be seized for technical examination, the police announce.
