Four more people on the bus were taken to hospital with minor injuries. A total of 29 people were on board the bus, they belong to the same party and most are young people in their 18s.
"Those who have not been taken away by ambulance have been able to go together to a gathering place," the police write on their website.
Both vehicles ended up in the ditch in connection with the collision. At least eight ambulances were sent to the scene, according to SOS Alarm.
The bus is supposed to be in the ditch but on all four wheels, says Ola Nilsson, team leader at SOS.
The alarm came at 18.10. The road, which lacks a median barrier at the accident site, has been closed in both directions and traffic is being diverted via the community of Hestra.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into reckless driving to be able to investigate the cause of the accident. No one is currently suspected. Both vehicles will be seized for technical examination.
