Police spokeswoman Tamara Fuentes would not say what type of crime is being investigated and did not confirm that a woman had been stabbed.
"We are dealing with a serious crime. A person is in custody and there is no ongoing danger to the public," Fuentes said.
An injured person has been taken to hospital by ambulance, but there is no information about the severity of the person's injuries.
There are reportedly several witnesses to the incident, and the police are now working, among other things, to gather information from them.
