The 44-year-old American recently won her comeback match after an absence of almost four years. Williams and Victoria Mboko were scheduled to play in the quarterfinals of the English grass-court tournament today, but were forced to withdraw by walkover. Mboko suffered a knee injury in a singles match earlier in the tournament.
Williams will now turn her attention to Berlin next week, where she will play doubles with Karolina Muchova. If things go well there, the seven-time Wimbledon winner may play doubles in the Grand Slam tournament, which starts on June 29.
