Serena Williams emerged victorious in her first US Open match in four years on Tuesday. An hour later, she was eliminated.
The 44-year-old tennis legend competed in the mixed doubles with Carlos Alcaraz and won the round of 16 late Tuesday evening Swedish time.
But things move quickly in tennis too. The pair lost the quarter-finals - which were played shortly afterwards - to Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli in straight sets. Carlos Alcaraz continues to play in the singles tournament.
