The criminal network that is now said to have been "taken down" was behind the transportation of large quantities of narcotics, such as cocaine, amphetamines, and cannabis, from Spain and the Netherlands, according to a press release from the EU's judicial cooperation Eurojust.

The narcotics have been smuggled into Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway, and authorities from these countries have also been involved in the operation.

From Sweden, the Prosecution Authority, the police's National Operational Department (NOA), and the Customs Service participated.

Serbian authorities estimate that at least 1.6 tons of narcotics and over 60,000 pills have been transported. Investigations have been ongoing since 2020.

During the raids in Serbia, several encrypted phones, as well as firearms and ammunition, were also seized.
