A 49-year-old man who was sentenced to murder of four people has been executed in Indiana in the USA early on Wednesday morning local time.
The murders he was convicted of in 1997 were of his own brother, his sister's fiancé and two other men. All four were shot to death.
While the now executed man was imprisoned, he is said to have talked about also having shot his parents to death in 1992, but he was acquitted of those murders.
The man's lawyers have claimed for several years that the man was mentally ill and tried as late as last week to get the death penalty stopped, but the request was denied.
The execution is the state's first in 15 years and the 24th in the USA this year.
