Senegal's President Bassirou Diomaye Faye dissolves the parliament and announces new elections.

The election will be held on November 17.

The parliament that is now dissolved is dominated by the opposition.

According to analyses, Faye's party Pastef has a great chance of securing a majority, thanks to the president's popularity and his margin of victory in the presidential election.
