"I am prepared to continue the process of confirming Mr. Warsh," Tillis said in an interview with NBC on Sunday.
The announcement follows the US Department of Justice's Friday statement that the criticized criminal investigation into current Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is being closed.
The Trump administration has a long-standing conflict with the US Federal Reserve and, above all, with Powell.
Republican Tillis has previously said he will vote no on Warsh until the investigation into Powell has been resolved, which has effectively blocked the nomination.
