Selma Blair is suspected of assault and accused of behaving violently towards two cabin crew members during a flight from Los Angeles to New York.
According to reports in American media, the actor tried to open the plane door while it was in the air and bit a flight attendant.
In a statement, a representative for Blair said she had suffered an "acute medical condition."
Blair, known for films such as “The Devil’s Wife” and “Legally Blonde,” has advocated for disability rights in recent years. She was diagnosed with MS in 2018.
