"The police are in charge of this operation. They are the ones who made the decision to take the ship to the nearest port," says the port CEO, Malin Collin, to Trelleborgs Allehanda.
She states that it is unclear how long the ship will remain there.
Caffa has been seized by the police following a request for legal assistance from Ukraine, where a preliminary investigation into a suspected crime is underway.
"The cargo ship is empty and will be thoroughly examined by police personnel," says Niclas Andersson from the Investigation Unit at the National Operational Unit on the police website.
