Another person is to be questioned following the weekend's shooting in Gävle. The person is suspected of aiding and abetting attempted murder, according to the prosecutor.

Previously, a recently turned 14-year-old boy is suspected of the shooting. The new suspicion concerns a person over 15 years old. More precise than that, prosecutor Fredrik Normark does not want to be.

We can only confirm that we have another suspect in the case and more unfortunately we cannot tell at the moment, he says to TT.

Normark does not want to disclose whether the person is deprived of liberty or not.

We do not want to release any information about this person until we know what this suspicion leads to.

The shooting on Södra Kungsgatan in Gävle occurred just before two o'clock on the night of Saturday. Six people were hit and suffered injuries to the lower body, however, no one is said to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

The police have stated that the incident is gang-related. However, those who were shot are not linked to gang environments by the police and they are not believed to have been intended targets.

The boy who is suspected of the shooting was about to be taken into custody by the authorities shortly before the incident.

Corrected: In an earlier version of the text, unconfirmed information about the new suspect's age appeared.
