"As a player, there were incredibly strong emotions every time I was in the national team, and it's the same feeling now as a leader," he tells the association's website.
Larsson has repeatedly pointed out that he would be happy to continue as one of national team captain Graham Potter's closest collaborators.
Now, in the spring, both have signed contracts that extend several years into the future.
"Good cooperation"
Larsson, who played 133 international matches between 2008 and 2021, took a place on former national team captain Jon Dahl Tomasson's staff when the Dane took up his post in March 2024.
When Dahl Tomasson was fired in October last year, Larsson was allowed to remain in his role.
Since then, he and Potter have found each other.
"Graham has quickly shown what a great leader he is and it is inspiring to learn from him and contribute what I can to make the national team as successful as possible. I think we have found a good partnership and my role is to support Graham and the players in the best way possible," Larsson tells the association's website .
"Means a lot"
National team manager Kim Källström:
"We are very pleased that Sebastian has chosen to extend his assignment. It means a lot to us that he continues and builds on his valued work in the coaching staff together with Graham Potter. The continuity and cooperation in the leadership team are important parts of our continued journey and now all focus is on the upcoming World Cup."
Sweden begins the group stage of the World Cup against Tunisia on June 15 in Monterrey and then faces the Netherlands in Houston on June 20 and Japan in Dallas on June 26.
Graham Potter names the World Cup squad on May 12.
The national team will play a World Cup qualifier against Norway in Oslo on June 1 and at home in Solna against Greece on June 4.
