Shortly after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, police were called to Lake Skavenäs in Växjö after a canoe overturned. Two young men were in the canoe and one of them managed to get to shore.
The other man was not found. On Thursday, police and the Swedish Sea Rescue Society searched for him, and by Thursday evening there was no information that he had been found.
"We haven't found him," said police spokesman Leif Fransson.
The police will not continue the search overnight, according to Fransson. How the operation continues tomorrow is up to the local police area, he said.
