Bradley Cooper is being considered for the lead role, which is based on a real person whose identity has not been made public, Variety reports. The plot is described as “an unexpected story of friendship” and will reportedly focus not on the storming of the Capitol, but on the policeman’s past lives.
The film, which has no title but has been greenlit, could be a sensitive issue for Warner Bros.' future parent company, Paramount, whose CEO David Ellison has openly shown ties to Donald Trump, who pardoned most of those convicted after the Capitol storming.
Sean Penn has, among other things, called Trump "an enemy of humanity."
