Penn was not in Los Angeles on Sunday to accept his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for "One Battle After Another."
Now he has received an alternative Oscar in Ukraine, made from metal from a train carriage damaged in Russian attacks.
"You missed the Oscars, so we did this one," said Oleksandr Pertsovsky, CEO of Ukrainian Railways, in a video published by the BBC.
Penn has visited Ukraine several times since Russia launched its full-scale invasion four years ago. In 2022, he donated one of his Oscars to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
