Ablation is a procedure for heart palpitations, which Hiirikoski has suffered from since last winter.
It was in fact in July that Hiirikoski got an infection, which led to, among other things, heart palpitations and lack of energy. The 38-year-old has had difficulty getting the right care, but during the spring her condition has improved and now Hiirikoski has been operated on by specialists in Stockholm.
"It was a successful operation and the best group of nurses and doctors have taken good care of me).
Hiirikoski missed the playoffs in the spring and has not been able to play hockey this year.
"The last six months have been a real nightmare. It has been a long journey after the infection. I have not felt like myself. Mentally it has been incredibly tough, to sit on the sidelines, not being able to help my team."
"I am glad to have incredible people around me who have helped me step by step."
