This will be done through, among other things, easing beach protection, lower cash contributions for those who contribute sweat equity to increase the value of their own home, and a strengthened interest deduction for those building their first house.

Small houses are the single most interesting form of housing for most people in Sweden, says party leader Jimmie Åkesson at a press conference.

Even before the last election in 2022, the Sweden Democrats presented their proposal for a Sweden House, a type-approved house that can be built without a building permit.

The Tidö parties have had the Swedish Board of Housing, Building and Planning investigate the issue, and the authority submitted its proposals for legislative amendments in June.

We are not completely satisfied with the outcome, but it is a step in the right direction, says Åkesson.
