We can't have it that way, it's not in line with the general perception of the law, says SD leader Jimmie Åkesson at a press conference outside Stockholm District Court, where a high-profile defamation trial is starting today.
The party's legal policy spokesperson, Henrik Vinge, says defamation law has gone wrong.
All the people who have warned about pedophiles, about dangerous criminals, and who have been convicted of slander for it should be pardoned, he says, and continues:
If we decide, the government will do this, it could become a reality.
SD cannot say how many people could be pardoned.
You need to go back in time and look at which cases this should apply to, says Vinge.
SD has not discussed the issue with the other Tidö parties.
