Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) says SD member Katja Nyberg will be dismissed from several advisory boards amid suspicions of drunk driving. "We will make a decision in the near future," Strömmer tells TT.

Nyberg has served as a member of the Security Service, Police and Special Investigations' Transparency Council. Last week, the SD requested that she be dismissed from her duties.

Now the government has announced that she will not attend the transparency councils she previously participated in.

According to Strömmer, the decision will be made shortly, and Nyberg will probably not be allowed to participate in the next meeting of Säpo's transparency council in early February.

"That's my assessment," says Strömmer.

It was during the intervening days that Nyberg was stopped on suspicion of drunk driving, and rapid tests indicated suspected drug influence. Nyberg has denied the allegations.
