Councilor Jörgen Fogelklou is the Sweden Democrats' top name in Gothenburg. At a meeting in the city's urban planning committee, he denies that humans are behind the climate changes, reports Gothenburg Post.
The climate is changing all the time, from ice age to hot. We have planets out in the world that were icy, then extremely hot, or extremely hot and then icy, and it hasn't been a human there, he says at the meeting and continues:
The climate is changing. Humans play zero role in climate changes.
According to Jörgen Fogelklou, the climate changes are "absolutely", but he says he has not contributed to them.
Fogelklous statements go against the Sweden Democrats' party program. In it, it is stated, among other things, that Sweden should take responsibility for reducing emissions of greenhouse gases that affect the climate.
The statements also go against the collective research, including the UN's climate panel IPCC.
