Heading into this week's major in Scotland, the American had made 78 straight cuts on the PGA Tour. But when Scheffler missed a par putt from just under two metres on his final hole of Friday's round at Renaissance Club, he fell back to level par for the tournament.
The cut line is estimated to be -2, and the PGA Tour itself wrote on X that Scheffler's streak is over.

Next week, the final major of the year, the British Open, will be played at Royal Birkdale.
