The series is created by Vince Gilligan, the man behind series like "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul". It is about writer Carol (Rhea Seehorn) who is faced with the strange mission of saving the world from happiness.
Apple secured the rights to the series back in 2022, after HBO, Amazon, and Netflix all bid heavily for the project. It committed to two seasons and a hefty budget of $15 million per episode.
Previously, the second season of “Severance” was the streaming service's most-watched series.
