Swedish international Schröder swapped Häcken for Real Madrid earlier this summer in a record transfer. After scoring twice in friendly matches, the 19-year-old also scored on her competitive debut for the club in the Champions League qualifier against Ajax.
In Sunday night's league opener against Atletico Madrid, Schröder continued her scoring success. She gave Real Madrid the lead after eight minutes, and scored her second goal of the evening when she made it 3–1 just before halftime.
Ten minutes into the second half, however, Schröder was shown a red card and had to leave the field after her two-goal display.
Shortly afterwards, Atletico Madrid was also reduced to 10 players in the match, which ended 3–2 to Real Madrid.
