Ann Charlotte Höiem works at Tibbleskolan, which has activities from preschool class to third grade, in Skultuna.

We have locked all doors and the children are not allowed to go out during recess, but the lessons are proceeding as usual, says.

According to Brandon Wade, security officer in Västerås municipality, the municipality has ongoing contact with the police about the incident and is following the advice on lockdown.

But so far, we have not received any other directives than to do what we are doing now, he says.

Ann Charlotte Höiem says that the children at the school are calm, but they receive many calls from worried parents.

We are trying to calm the parents. Many want to come and pick up their children, but the parents should not go out either. So we assure them that we are taking care of the children, she says.

Västerås municipality will gather all administrations at a meeting to create a situation picture and see how to act forward, says Brandon Wade.
