The investigation concerns a former school employee who was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison last year for offensive photography, gross child pornography and sexual assaults that took place at schools in the Stockholm area. He had then taken photos and filmed students in locker rooms and on field trips.
In the spring of 2024, according to the Prosecution Authority, work began to investigate further incidents further back in time at two schools in Haninge. After reviewing seized material, the police and prosecutors have identified approximately 160 plaintiffs who are now being contacted by the police.
"All plaintiffs we have managed to identify will receive a letter from the police in the coming days, whether the crime is statute-barred or not. For the crimes that are still current for prosecution, we ask the plaintiffs to come in for questioning. It is voluntary and is done to confirm identification and to be able to bring charges", says senior prosecutor Åsa Valter, who is leading the preliminary investigation, in a press release.
The criminal activity is said to have taken place over a period of more than ten years, from 2006 and onwards. The investigation has not been able to show that the material has been spread further.
