Lotta Schelin becomes a musical artist: "Awesome"

Lotta Schelin has put on the football jersey again. This time on the theater stage. It feels bloody awful, says the former national team star to Sydsvenskan about her musical debut.

On Friday evening, "As long as the ball rolls" premieres at the Lorensbergsteatern in Gothenburg. The musical is about the football club Vide BK, and in one of the roles - as team captain Nina - Lotta Schelin can be seen, who with her 88 national team goals for Sweden is the best of all time.

As early as last summer, Göteborgs-Posten could tell about Schelin's new venture.

Just getting the question felt crazy. There's a vein in me that's drawn to the musical world, said Schelin to the newspaper in June last year.

It's not the first time the attacking star is on stage, though. Previously, she has appeared on both "Allsång på Skansen" on SVT and "Masked singer" on TV4.

I probably wouldn't have dared to say yes to this if I hadn't done "Masked singer" before. It's about the fear of singing in front of people, but there I was a bit naive and thought it might be fun if you're hidden behind a mask. But it was so damn fun to have a reason to sing, so I dared and it went, says Lotta Schelin to Sydsvenskan.
