Twelve people have been sentenced to prison for various forms of involvement in large-scale cannabis cultivation.

The maximum sentence for the ringleader will be seven years and seven months in prison, Helsingborg District Court writes in a press release . Another man, who the court considers to have acted as the ringleader's right-hand man, will be sentenced to six years and seven months in prison.

The origin of the police investigation was that dumped garbage bags with cannabis residues and cultivation equipment were found over a long period in various locations in northwestern Skåne and in Småland, reports HD .

A discarded receipt became the clue that led to a person being arrested. A large-scale cannabis cultivation was then found in an industrial building in a town outside Helsingborg.
