Truck manufacturer Scania wants to form a consortium to buy out the bankrupt Northvolt's research and development facility. In an interview with Financial Times, CEO Christian Levin states that Scania is in talks with other investors, including the Swedish government and the EU Commission, to buy out the part that went by the name of Northvolt Labs.
–We are trying to form a consortium that can co-finance, but we cannot do it ourselves. It is simply too much even for a large company like us, says Levin to Financial Times.
Northvolt invested more than 750 million dollars in the facility outside Västerås.
