Hotel chain Scandic Hotels reports an operating result of 1,174 million kronor for the third quarter of the year. During the corresponding quarter a year earlier, the company made an operating profit of 1,155 million. At the same time, the average occupancy rate of the hotel chain increased to 74.2 percent compared to the comparison figure of 71.4 percent.

Net sales during the period amounted to 6.3 billion kronor, an increase of 3.1 percent compared to the same period the previous year and in line with analysts' expectations according to Bloomberg.

"Demand was positive in most of our markets, with increasing travel volumes and tourism as well as a well-filled event calendar, which contributed to a stable increase in revenue per available room," writes CEO Jens Mathiesen in the interim report.
