Mårder was arrested in mid-April on suspicion of having encouraged another person to trade shares in the company Raysearch. He is suspected on probable grounds of four counts of aggravated insider trading between 2024 and 2026, but denies the charges.

Günther Mårder was appointed by the government in 2023 as a board member of the Swedish Public Employment Service, a position he resigned from after the suspicions emerged. He has previously been CEO of the interest groups Aktiespararna and Företagarna.

Mårder remains a suspect.
