The oil pipeline stretches from Saudi Arabia's eastern coast on the Persian Gulf to the western coast on the Red Sea.
On Friday evening, Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry said that the oil pipeline had been attacked by drones targeting the Riyadh and Medina regions. According to authorities, several people were injured.
After the attacks, Saudi Arabia decided to temporarily close the pipeline and suspend its operations for an unclear period of time.
