Saudi Arabia says it intercepted drones targeting Riyadh airport

Saudi Arabia says it has intercepted several drones heading for targets in the capital, Riyadh. Meanwhile, the Iran-backed Houthi movement accuses Saudi Arabia of attacks that killed at least 12 people in Yemen.

Fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Islamist Houthi movement has intensified in recent weeks, following the collapse of a fragile ceasefire in July this year.

According to Saudi Arabia, the Houthi movement again attacked sites in the capital, Riyadh, specifically targeting the international airport, but the drone attacks were stopped.

The movement's Saba news agency claimed that Saudi attacks on Yemen's Dhamar province killed twelve people, three of them children, on Saturday night.
