"We are making adjustments to selected routes, mainly where there is the possibility of rebooking, in order to maintain flexibility for our customers," said SAS press manager Alexandra Lindgren Kaoukji in a press release.

It is not clear which departures are affected or how many there are.

According to SAS, the measures are proactive and intended to prioritize and protect holiday traffic so that travelers "can plan their trips this summer without worry."

In April, SAS canceled 1,000 departures for the same reason. At the time, the company's CEO, Anko van der Werff, said the situation could be compared to SAS "having 800 flights per day."

The increase in jet fuel prices is an effect of the outbreak of war in Iran, which has limited supplies of oil products.
