Hurry slowly has been the 32-year-old's motto since the birth of her son Adrian. She also wanted to make a comeback as late as possible, right before the European Championships in August.
Now Sjöström has decided on a different route back to the pool.
She will compete in the Swim Open in April in Stockholm, just over seven months after giving birth.
The plan is to swim the 50 meters freestyle.
Sjöström, who won double gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has previously said that she aims to swim in Los Angeles at the 2028 Olympics.
