The reporter managed to get into one of the prime minister couple's properties in the municipality of Flen by signing up via email as a volunteer for a working day at the Fållökna manor - which, according to Aftonbladet, was purchased in 2023 by Birgitta Ed and entrepreneur Göran Thorstenson and is rented to a foundation that Ed helped found. According to the newspaper, the prime minister couple co-owns one of the wings of the manor.

Volunteers are invited to help with maintenance via open ads. The reporter signed up with a fake last name and a photo of herself that had been altered using AI. After four hours she was welcomed by email - and six days later she went there.

No security check

On site, the Säpo guards did not ask the reporter to show identification, nor did they search her backpack or pockets. The volunteers were later invited to the cafeteria and were given a choice of tasks, one of which was led by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

During the stay, the reporter heard about the Prime Minister couple's routines, and Ed explained how the Security Service thinks. According to Aftonbladet, Ed also showed the Prime Minister couple's bedroom to the reporter, who was left alone upstairs with the invitation to "go and have a look."

"Säpo's cursed obligation"

Despite the revelations, the Prime Minister says he is satisfied with Säpo's work.

"I feel very confident about the security," Ulf Kristersson says to SVT Nyheter.

But the Prime Minister's own opinion on the matter is not enough, according to security expert Jörgen Holmlund, who, among other things, has extensive experience in security work within the police.

It is Säpo's damned obligation to be responsible for the safety of the protected persons, whether the protected persons understand it themselves or not, he tells Svenska Dagbladet, adding that it is not enough for the prime minister couple to be behind an invitation to a person.

Säpo tells SvD that they take the protection of Kristersson and his family very seriously. However, they declined to say whether there was a failure in personal protection in the current case.
