Säpo gets 100 million kronor in increased budget allocations per year for the next three years, among other things to meet threats from Russian security services.

It's about the fact that we must continue to act offensively to protect Sweden's security, says Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M).

He points out that foreign powers, such as Russia and Iran, extremists and terrorists pose serious threats to the country.

– It's also the case that we during the past year have been able to see that the Russian security intelligence services have acted increasingly offensively against countries in Europe. This naturally affects the security situation in Sweden as well. We must take that into account.

The budget of Säpo will have increased from 2.1 billion kronor in 2023 to 3.2 billion in 2028.
