Her novel is about "shame, class, and childhood", according to the motivation and is one of five specially written radio novels that were nominated for the prize by a jury consisting of book circles around the country.

"I didn't think my story about a teenage crisis in a blooming cowshed would win over the other interesting and well-written novels. It's especially honourable, of course, since it's P1's listeners who have voted for my novel", says Sanna Samuelsson in a press release.

The jury also praises Malin Vispe's "fine-tuned reading" which makes the teenage anguish real.

Sanna Samuelsson is a cultural writer and author. She debuted in 2023 with the novel "Mjölkat" for which she received Borås Tidning's debutant prize in 2024.
