He didn't make the Swedish Olympic squad, but Rasmus Sandin seems to have used the break the right way. In the NHL restart last night, he scored Washington's opening goal in a 3-1 win over Philadelphia.
Sandin came with speed and met Hendrix Lapierre's well-placed pass and nursed the puck for a moment to find a gap behind Dan Vladar with just over a minute left in the second period.
The goal was Sandin's first home goal this season and the first Swedish point after the Olympic break.
