Samuelsson set off for the World Cup competition in Holmenkollen with a small lead in the sprint cup.
With one miss, Samuelsson finished in seventh place. Norwegian Sturla Holm Lægreid finished first with the same number of misses as Samuelsson, just over half a minute faster.
It is Lægreid's sixth consecutive victory in the World Cup, and it means that he overtakes Samuelsson in the sprint cup total and takes home the discipline cup - with the same final points as the Swede but with more victories.
It's really bad as hell, it was boring, Samuelsson tells SVT.
Martin Ponsiluoma had two crashes but still managed to finish in fourth place.
Frenchman Eric Perrot finished third and has secured the overall World Cup title, becoming the fifth Frenchman ever. Émilien Jacquelin finished second in the race.
